Frequently Asked Questions
From permit approval to commissioning, a full standby generator install typically spans 1 to 3 weeks. The actual on-site work often takes 1 to 2 days, depending on site complexity.
We perform a detailed load analysis—reviewing your essential appliances, HVAC, lighting, and critical circuits—to recommend a generator sized to your home or facility’s requirements, providing reliable backup without oversizing.
Yes. Most local jurisdictions require electrical and gas permits and inspections. We handle all permitting and code compliance, ensuring your installation meets municipal regulations from start to finish.
Only with a proper transfer switch or interlock system installed by a professional. This isolates your generator from the utility line and prevents dangerous backfeed. We offer safe, code-compliant installation of such systems.
Generac standby systems use sound-dampening enclosures and often Quiet-Test™ or similar technologies, making them significantly quieter than traditional units. In most cases, you’ll hear only a low hum from a distance.
With correct installation and regular maintenance, a Generac standby generator can last 20 to 30 years (or more). Its longevity depends on usage patterns, environment, and servicing frequency.
